Which Service When ?

Inappropriate A+E attendances for problems that are neither emergencies nor related to acute injuries from accidents, cause delay in assessment for those who have genuine need. NHS Sheffield is keen to help you choose the right service for your needs at the time, i.e "the right place at the right time". That might be, self-care, pharmacist advice, walk-in-centre, GP (including urgent access as at Jaunty Springs Health Centre),or out of hours GP service. In order to facilitate that, there is some guidance available in our further information list. Please help by accessing the right service at the right time. This is especially important in the winter months when the health service is under additional pressure.Thank you

MSK Service

MSK Service

You will require a referral from a GP in order to be referred to the Musculoskeletal Service (MSK Service). The service offer physiotherapy appointments, orthopaedic appointments and other specialist services.

Once the referral has been received, MSK Services will contact you via telephone to discuss with you which service is best for you and will ask where you would like to be seen and offer you an appointment. There are dozens of different sites across the city that you can choose to be treated.

We currently have physios working here, so we will be your closest option. Confirmation will be sent to you by post.

One of the commonest reasons for referral to Physiotherapy is back problems. It is very worthwhile visiting the following website for tips and video clips as well as downloadable advice sheets:
